LKCMedicine Admissions Information
LKCMedicine welcomes exceptional students who are bright, determined and resourceful individuals from diverse backgrounds and with wide interests. Applicants should demonstrate an understanding of medicine as a career and show a practical concern for others. Selection for entry will be based on academic ability, motivation for study, interest in medicine and the potential to benefit from the experience and to contribute to the programme.

How To Apply
Online Admission Application
All applications to the LKCMedicine must be submitted online between December and April via the NTU application portal here.
Applications must include the following information:
- Academic results
- Personal statement
- Co-curricular accomplishments(if the applicant would like to be considered under Non-Academic Achievements/Exceptional Individual Scheme)
- Official testimonial from school
- 2 Reference reports
- Any other supporting documents
All offers of admission to the LKCMedicine MBBS undergraduate degree course will be made through the NTU Office of Admissions and Financial Aid (OAFA).
Academic Qualifications
Applicants should possess the requisite pre-university qualifications in order to be admitted to the programme:
Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-level Certificate
- H2 Pass in Chemistry and H2 Pass in either Biology or Physics
- All H2 subjects must be taken at one sitting
International Baccalaureate Diploma
- Pass in HL Chemistry and Pass in either HL Biology or Physics
National University of Singapore High School Diploma
- Major CAP of 2.0 in Chemistry and either Biology or Physics
- CAP of 1.0 in one other major and in English Programme and Research Project
Polytechnic Diploma
- A good GPA in a Health Science-related diploma
International Qualifications

Other Requirements
BioMedical Admissions Test (BMAT)
Applicants will have to register for the Biomedical Admissions Test (BMAT) and take the BMAT as part of the criteria for entry to the LKCMedicine MBBS programme. If one is applying to the AY2014 intake of LKCMedicine, one should take the BMAT in November 2013, prior to applying to the LKCMedicine. Only results of the BMAT taken in the 12-month period prior to application to LKCMedicine will be considered in the selection process.
The BMAT is produced, administered and marked by the Admissions Testing Service, which is working with two test agents in Singapore for BMAT: SEAMEO Regional Language Centre (RELC) and the British Council, Singapore. This year’s BMAT will take place on 6 November 2013. Students from the Singapore school system may register with the RELC. Students outside the Singapore school system may do with the British Council. Registration details will be announced in due course.

Financial Assistance
Financial assistance is available for students currently under the MOE Financial Assistant Scheme (MOE FAS). MOE FAS guidelines can be found here. Polytechnic students should seek advice from their polytechnics on their eligibility for financial assistance.
The Personal Statement
Applicants to the MBBS programme will have to submit a personal statement as part of the application process. The personal statement is an essay of not more than 300 words, introducing the applicant including, but not limited to, the reasons for wishing to study medicine and of any experience that may have driven the desire to become a doctor. Leadership experience and teamwork ability should be highlighted. The personal statement may be followed up at the interview stage.
Exceptional Individual Scheme
All applicants must achieve the minimum academic requirements. Applicants who are nevertheless concerned about the competitiveness of their academic scores, and have other exceptional talents they wish to draw attention to, should also complete the Exceptional Individual Scheme (EIS) portion of the online application form.
Interviews
Applicants will be selected for interview around April each year on the basis of their online applications and BMAT scores. The interview will be conducted in the Multiple Mini Interviews (MMI) format. To understand the MMI process better, do go through these MMI FAQs. And watch this video.
Health Requirements
Applicants offered admission to LKCMedicine will need to complete a health screening and provide proof of negative Hepatitis B (Hep B) carrier status prior to admission to the MBBS degree programme. Hep B carriers may not be admitted to the MBBS programme.
