Dean's Message
The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine opened its doors to our inaugural cohort of medical students on 5 August 2013. On that historic day, we welcomed 54 outstanding young men and women. Since then, our cohort size has grown and soon we will welcome each year 150 or more aspiring young doctors, who will be working with and learning from some of the best talents in medicine and healthcare.

    ​LKCMedicine has just launched a new video series, Research Spotlight, which feature the School’s researchers. As part of the School’s effort to showcase its involvement in transformative research to address the healthcare challenges of Singapore’s ageing population, the researchers share about the focus, goals and potential impact of their projects.

    LKCMedicine Nanyang Associate Professor Karen Crasta and Nanyang Assistant Professor Juliana Chan are among 23 outstanding women in Singapore who are ambassadors of the Girls to Pioneers programme, organised by the Singapore Committee for United Nations (UN) Women.

    ​LKCMedicine appoints new Scientific Directors to spearhead research themes
    LKCMedicine announced the appointment of three senior scientists to lead the School’s key research themes. Professor Artur Schmidtchen will lead research in Dermatology & Skin Biology, Professor Balázs Gulyás in Neuroscience & Mental Health, and Professor George Chandy in Infection & Immunity.

    ​LKCMedicine attracts growing number of top A-Level students
    ​The number of top A-Level holders applying to LKCMedicine has increased to close to 70 per cent, from last year’s 64 per cent. This reflects growing interest in the School’s innovative MBBS programme among local students hoping to study medicine.
