LKCMedicine Interhouse UnSports Day

On 18 January 2017, the students and House Tutors of the five LKCMedicine Houses gathered for UnSports Day at CSB. Over the course of the afternoon, students battled it out in various activities pitting their skills against one another in Mario Karts (a go-kart style video game), foosball, dancing and other card and board games. Osler House eventually emerged as Champion, followed closely by Marie Curie House, while the other three Houses – Alexander Fleming, Wu Lien-Teh and Lim Boon Keng took third, fourth and fifth place respectively.

LKCMedicine and NUS Medicine host UTAS students as part of the Asian Medical Exchange Programme 2017
A group of 11 students from LKCMedicine and NUS Medicine hosted 13 students from the University of Tasmania (UTAS) as part of the Asian Medical Exchange Programme (AMSEP), from January 16 to 22. Organised by the Asian Medical Students' Association (AMSA), the UTAS students were able to experience the various learning practices used at both schools. At LKCMedicine, participants had the opportunity to observe the School’s comprehensive TBL approach in classrooms, attended an Anatomy Practical session and clinical teaching during the students’ clinical posting at Ang Mo KioThye Hua Kwan Hospital. Participants also had the chance to immerse themselves in the sights and sounds of Singapore through various social activities. Overall, the exchange programme allowed participants to form more collaborations and tighter bonds between medical schools, locally and internationally.

LKCMedicine students celebrate Chinese New Year
LKCMedicine Year 1 and 2 students celebrated Chinese New Year (CNY) at the CSB Learning Studio on January 26 and 27 respectively. To usher in the Year of the Rooster, students were dressed in red and participated in CNY-themed games. They also enjoyed a variety of CNY goodies distributed at both events.
