Dr Chua Sze Hon, MBBS, FRCP (Edin), FAMS (Dermatology), graduated in Medicine from the University of Singapore in 1998. He qualified as a dermatologist in 1998 and is currently Senior Consultant with the National Skin Centre.
At the National Skin Centre, Dr Chua heads the Division of Medical Education which oversees all medical education within the Centre and is Chief of the Dermatological Surgery and Laser Unit. Dr Chua is also the Director of the National Residency Programme which trains Singapore’s future generation of dermatologists.
Dr Chua is passionate about student-centred learning and is actively involved in the teaching of medical students, medical officers and residents as well as visiting overseas fellows. He has published numerous articles in both local and foreign peer-reviewed scientific journals and has authored many chapters in dermatological books. He is co-editor of Asian Skin-A Reference Atlas of Dermatology, a highly regarded reference atlas of skin conditions affecting Asians.
Dr Chua was the President of the Dermatological Society of Singapore (2005-2008) and is a member of the Dermatology Specialist Training Committee (2005-2012). He was the recipient of the Excellent Service Award (2007, 2008), Service Champion Superstar Award (2008) and the NHG Excellence in Action Award (2011) in recognition of his unwavering commitment to outstanding service and performance.
