Dr Khoo Kian Hoe was an undergraduate from Imperial College London from 2002- 2005, under an A*STAR NSS-Ph.D scholarship. He proceeded to do his Ph.D at the University of Cambridge under Prof Sir Alan Fersht from 2006-2009, where he studied the thermodynamic stability of p53. He returned to Singapore in 2010 and is currently a Research Fellow under Prof Sir David Lane at the p53lab. His research interests include understanding the molecular basis of resistance towards nutlin-induced apoptosis in acute myeloid leukemias, in collaboration with Roche Pharmaceuticals. He is also looking at developing better diagnostics against PSA for early detection of prostate cancer, together with colleagues from the Data Storage Institute, A*STAR.
