Dr Shawn Vasoo MBBS, MRCP, ABIM (Inf. Diseases), ABP (Med. Microbiology) is an Associate Consultant in the Department of Infectious Diseases at the Institute of Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology,  Tan Tock Seng Hospital.  He graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2001, and subsequently completed a Internal Medicine residency and  Infectious Diseases fellowship at Rush University Medical Centre in Chicago, Illinois,  with further subspecialty training in Clinical Microbiology and Orthopaedic Infectious Diseases at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He serves on the Editorial Board of  the Journal of Clinical Microbiology and his research interests include rapid diagnostics, antimicrobial resistance and device-related infections. Besides a busy HIV clinic and inpatient clinical infectious diseases work, he is also core faculty in  the Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases Residency Programs and is active in teaching undergraduates and trainees.
