Tuition Fees
All students admitted to LKCMedicine are eligible for subsidised fees, subject to service obligation. The subsidised fees information for students admitted in AY2016-17 can be obtained here.
As LKCMedicine is a School set up to train doctors for Singapore and Singaporeans, priority for admission will be given to Singaporeans.
LKCMedicine, as part of NTU, affirms the University’s commitment to a needs-blind, merit based admissions policy that will ensure no deserving student is denied an education because of financial difficulty. In addition to the scholarships and bursaries offered by NTU Office of Admissions and Financial Aid, LKCMedicine offers its own scholarships and bursaries to assist students with financial difficulties. Scholarships and bursaries are open for application as part of the admissions application from October to April each year.

Nanyang Scholarship
The Nanyang Scholarship, NTU’s foremost undergraduate scholarships are awarded to outstanding freshmen pursuing undergraduate programmes. Nanyang Scholarship recognizes students who excel academically, demonstrate strong leadership potential, and possess outstanding Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) track records.
​Eligibility
  • ​Open to all nationalities;
  • Successful awardees should read a full-time undergraduate degree programme. The scholarship will cover the years of study at NTU;
  • Possess outstanding Singapore-Cambridge GCE 'A' level, Local Polytechnic Diploma, NUS High School Diploma, IB Diploma or Year 12 equivalent qualifications;
  • Excellent CCA records; and
  • Strong leadership qualities and potential.
 
​Benefits of award
Nanyang Scholarship covers up to the normal programme duration on the condition that the scholar maintains a record of good academic performance and conduct satisfactory to the University.
  • Subsidised tuition fees (after Tuition Grant) will be fully covered;
  • Living allowance of S$6,000 per academic year;
  • Book allowance of S$500 per academic year;
  • Accommodation allowance of up to S$2,000 per academic year;
  • Travel grant of S$5,000 for an overseas study/attachment programme (one-off);
  • Computer allowance of S$1,500 (one-off);
  • Settling-in allowance of S$250 (one-off); and
  • Priority for Global Immersion Programme.
 
​Terms & Conditions
  • Scholars may not, without the approval of the University, hold concurrently any other scholarships, bursaries, university loans, fellowships, grants or awards;
  • The Scholar is required to maintain a satisfactory academic performance. Academic performance will be reviewed every semester;
  • Scholars are required to take on the role of student ambassador, or any other similar role, representing the university to give publicity talks, to receive guests, etc, as and when called upon to do so;
  • The scholarship may be withdrawn at any time if, in the opinion of the University, the scholar’s progress or behaviour is deemed unsatisfactory; and
  • If the scholar decides to terminate the scholarship prematurely, the University reserves the right to impose a repayment on a case-by-case basis.

    The same application period for admissions applies. Scholarships are awarded based on competition amongst shortlisted candidates. Applicants are required to submit your application for admission before submitting your application for scholarship.

  2. Local Polytechnic Diploma
  3. NUS High School Diploma
  4. IB Diploma
 
  • The scholarship application form can be found at the link 'Application for Scholarship' at the end of your online application for admission. You are required to login with the application number assigned to you.
    • Applicants are required to submit a recent passport-size photo (digital image) online after completing your application form.
    • Applicants are also required to submit a referee’s appraisal online. The appraisal is to be completed by your school teacher, who must not be your family or relative. After you have submitted your scholarship application, you will be provided with a URL to be forwarded to your school teacher. Your school teacher is to submit the online appraisal to us within 7 days of your scholarship application.

Applicants with Year 12 equivalent results:

The LKCMedicine Scholarship
Outstanding students aiming to pursue their undergraduate MBBS programme in NTU may apply for the LKCMedicine Scholarship. It is tenable for 5 years, subject to consistently good academic performance and satisfactory conduct by the scholarship recipient.
​Eligiility
  • ​Open to Singapore Citizens;
  • Successful awardees should read a full-time undergraduate MBBS programme in NTU;
  • Possess outstanding results in the Singapore-Cambridge GCE 'A' level, Local Polytechnic Diploma, NUS High School Diploma or International Baccalaureate (IB); and
  • Outstanding contributions or attributes in other areas such as community service, student leadership, or sporting excellence.
 
Benefits of award​
The LKCMedicine Scholarship covers up to the normal programme duration on the condition that the scholar maintains a record of good academic performance and satisfactory conduct.
  • Subsidised Tuition fees (after Tuition Grant) will be fully covered;
  • Living allowance of S$6,000 per academic year;
  • Book allowance of S$500 per academic year; and
  • S$1,500 one-off computer allowance.
 
Terms & Conditions
  • The Scholar may not hold concurrently any other scholarships, bursaries or university loans, without the approval of LKCMedicine;
  • The Scholar is required to maintain a satisfactory academic performance. Academic performance will be reviewed every academic year;
  • The Scholarship may be withdrawn at any time if, in the opinion of LKCMedicine, the scholar’s progress or conduct is deemed unsatisfactory; and
  • If the scholar decides to terminate the scholarship prematurely, LKCMedicine reserves the right to impose a repayment on a case-by-case basis.

Toh Kian Chui Scholarship
The Toh Kian Chui Scholarship is also tenable for 5 years, subject to consistently good academic performance and satisfactory conduct.
​Eligiility
  • Open to Singapore Citizens;
  • Successful awardees should read a full-time undergraduate MBBS programme in NTU;
  • Possess outstanding results in the Singapore-Cambridge GCE 'A' level, Local Polytechnic Diploma, NUS High School Diploma or International Baccalaureate (IB)
  • Outstanding contributions or attributes in other areas such as community service, student leadership, or sporting excellence; and
  • Preference will be given to students from lower income families.
 
Benefits of award
The Toh Kian Chui Scholarship covers up to the normal programme duration on the condition that the scholar maintains a record of good academic performance and satisfactory conduct.
  • Subsidised Tuition fees (after Tuition Grant) will be fully covered;
  • Living allowance of S$6,000 per academic year; and
  • Book allowance of S$500 per academic year.
 

ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarship
The ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarships are offered by the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) for citizens or permanent residents from the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN), except Singapore.
​Eligibility
  • ​Open to Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents from ASEAN*, except Singapore;
  • Successful awardees should read a full-time undergraduate degree programme leading to a first degree, with the exception of Biomedical Sciences & Chinese Medicine and the NTU-Georgia Tech Integrated Programmes where it will cover only the first three years of study in NTU;
  • Outstanding Singapore-Cambridge GCE 'A' level, Local Polytechnic Diploma, NUS High School Diploma, IB Diploma or Year 12 equivalent qualifications;
  • Excellent Co-Curricular Activities records; and
  • Strong leadership qualities and potential.
 
* NOTE: ASEAN comprises Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
 
​Benefits of award
    ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarship covers up to the normal programme duration on condition that the scholar maintains a record of good academic performance and conduct satisfactory to the University.
  • Subsidised tuition fees (after Tuition Grant) will be fully covered; and
  • Living allowance of S$5,800 per academic year.
 
Terms & Conditions
  • Scholar may not, without the approval of the University, hold concurrently any other scholarships, bursaries or university loans. Concurrent holding of LKY-STEP Award is allowed for Singapore Permanent Residents only;
  • The Scholar is required to maintain a satisfactory academic performance. Academic performance will be reviewed every semester;
  • The Scholarship may be withdrawn at any time if, in the opinion of the University, the scholar’s progress or behaviour is deemed unsatisfactory; and
  • If the scholar decides to terminate the scholarship prematurely, the University reserves the right to impose a repayment on a case-by-case basis.

SAF Medicine Scholarship
The SAF Medicine Scholarship is an exclusive scholarship programme for those who aspire to become military doctors. The scholarship allows you to pursue medical studies locally and develop as officers for senior medical positions in the SAF Medical Corps.

As an SAF Medicine Scholar, you will be offered the opportunity to be involved in operations that directly contribute to the peace and security of Singapore.
​Eligibility
  • ​Singaporean Citizen, or Permanent Resident intending to take up citizenship;
  • Excellent results for the GCE 'A' Levels, or the International Baccalaureate, or equivalent;
  • Qualify for Officer Cadet School;
  • Good Co-Curricular Activity (CCA) record;
  • Possess a strong interest in a military career;
  • Application open to both males and females.
 
Benefits of award​
  • ​Monthly salary;
  • Full tuition fee coverage;
  • Book allowance;
  • Computer subsidy (a one-off subsidy of $1,500)
  • Accommodation subsidies based on local twin-sharing hostel rates; and
  • One-time sponsorship of overseas electives.
 
Length of Bond​​
Scholarship holders will be required to serve a 6-Year Bond period with the SAF upon successful completion of their studies in either NUS or NTU.
The bond runs concurrent with the MOH bond, but the bond will be suspended during periods of Speciality Training and Hospital Posting.
 


Lee Kong Chian Bursary
​Eligibility
  • ​All financially-needy students pursuing their first undergraduate MBBS programme in NTU are eligible. With a generous endowment from the Lee Foundation, the Lee Kong Chian Bursary fund will be offering several awards per year;
  • Gross monthly Per Capital Income (PCI) of less than or equal to $2,250 per month OR Gross monthly Household Income (GHI) of less than or equal to $9,000;
  • A bursary may be awarded depending on the applicant’s financial situation and in accordance with the criteria set down by LKCMedicine; and
  • Students receiving the bursary may concurrently hold other bursaries or grants subject to approval by LKCMedicine.
Calculations of PCI
Gross income of family members in household + Total no. of family member in household
* NOTE: Gross income refers to amount before deduction of CPF. It includes allowances, overtime, commissions, etc.
 
Quantum
  • Covers up to 80% of tuition fees.
  • Tenable for 5 academic years. Renewal of the application is required each academic year.
  • The funds will be released on a semester basis with half of the award value released in semester 1 and the remaining half released in semester 2 on the condition that recipients are taking courses in the respective semesters (i.e. have not graduated, not on Leave of Absence or have not withdrawn from NTU).

AY2017-18 Freshmen: Students with Singapore-Cambridge ‘A’ level / Polytechnic Diploma
  • Submit your bursary application immediately after you have applied for admission to NTU. The bursary/Study Loan button will be available after you have submitted your application for admission.
  • There is no need for you to submit documents at the point of application. You will be required to submit the supporting income and ID documents within 2 weeks after you have accepted your admission offer.

For Singapore Citizens:
  • Based on the information provided in the bursary application, an in-principle approval will be emailed to your personal email account in April if you are eligible for a bursary.
  • Actual outcome of your application will be confirmed by end August. Successful applicants are required to accept the offer online. Funds will be released by October or within 4 weeks of your acceptance (whichever is later).
 
AY2017-18 Freshmen: Students with MOE International Baccalaureate (IB) / NUS High School Diploma
  • In June, you will receive a Freshmen Admission package which contains a cover letter with a link for you to obtain your matriculation number. After you have obtained your matriculation number, the bursary application link will be available to you in the “Online Acceptance Form” under the section “Financial Assistance Scheme”. Application for bursary to be made by 9 July.
  • You are to submit supporting docume​nts in person or by post within 7 calendar days upon your online application.
  • A bursary may be awarded depending on your financial situation and criteria set down by LKCMedicine.
  • You will be informed of the outcome of your bursary application via your NTU Student Email Account by end August. Successful applicants are required to accept the offer online. Funds will be released by end-October or within 4 weeks of your acceptance (whichever is later).

 

The above application periods are applicable to freshmen who are starting the school term in the same calendar year. Students going for National Service and hence starting the school term/matriculating into NTU in 1 or 2 years’ time are to apply in the actual year of matriculation

 


E I Parrish Bursary
​Eligibility
  • ​All financially-needy students pursuing their first undergraduate MBBS programme are eligible. The bursary fund will support 1 eligible student per year.
  • Gross monthly Per Capital Income (PCI) of less than or equal to $2,250 per month OR Gross monthly Household Income (GHI) of less than or equal to $9,000.
  • A bursary may be awarded depending on the applicant’s financial situation and in accordance with the criteria set down by LKCMedicine.
  • Students receiving the bursary may concurrently hold other bursaries or grants subject to approval by LKCMedicine.

Selection criteria​
  • ​Students must have demonstrated leadership skills and characteristics.
  • Background on the family in whose Fund is given will be shared with recipients and recipients will be asked to consider whether at an appropriate time in his or her life they will also be expected to demonstrate similar acts of giving to those in need.

    • Covers 75% of tuition fees for new students with effect from AY2017/18.
  • Tenable for 5 academic years. Renewal of the application is required in each academic year.

SMA Medical Students’ Assistance Fund (Bursary)
The SMA Medical Students’ Assistance Fund was set up by the Singapore Medical Association (SMA) to support the living expenses of financially-needy medical students pursuing their undergraduate MBBS programme in Singapore. This Fund is a programme under the SMA Charity Fund (SMACF), an Institution of a Public Character (IPC) and charity in Singapore. It is made possible by donors whose contributions could assist in reducing students’ financial challenges during their studies.
Eligibility​​
  • ​Open to Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents.
  • Students who are receiving bursaries from LKCMedicine are eligible for this Bursary subject to approval by LKCMedicine.
 
​Benefits of the award
  • ​Living allowance of $5,000 per academic year.
  • All disbursements will go directly to the students for their basic living expenses and will not be used to offset any outstanding tuition fees.

  • Applicants will be reviewed on a financial needs basis. Relevant documents will be separately required for verification purposes.
  • Awardees may be contacted for a human interest story as part of the Charity Fund’s outreach efforts.
